Cómo lo hacemos | Progreso, en todo lo que hacemos

Occupational health and safety are paramount to sustainable development.

Therefore, at Progreso we consider the workplace a priority environment that promotes well-being.

One of the greatest achievements of our Occupational Health and Safety Policy is the Zero Accidents Program. This program works hard towards our vision of achieving zero incidents with injury and suspension.

To this end, we implemented Scheduled Inspections, Control Verifications, Safety Gradients, Frequency and Severity Index, and the Orange Helmet. The latter promotes internal leadership and encourages the detection of correct and incorrect behaviors.

Thanks to the high Occupational Health and Safety performance since 2019, we are the only Guatemalan and Central American company to make the Campbell Institute list of members.

More professional drivers, increased road safety

In 2013 the doors of the Progreso Professional Driving Simulation Center were opened to train Progreso and external heavy transport drivers. This was achieved through the support of Progreso’s OH&S Advisory and Training Center.

Its implementation guarantees people’s well-being and on-time product delivery. It also focuses on preventing accidents and strengthening the country’s road safety culture.

We use the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driving methodology to certify drivers, which enables us to offer these courses in Central America.
