Economic value generated

Motivated by our transcendent purpose of “Building together the country where we all want to live” for more than 120 years, we have been working to generate and distribute value in society and business. For example, in Guatemala, our headquarter country, our company’s total revenues are equivalent to 0.85% of GDP at current prices in 2020.

To make these contributions, we focus on the extraction, production, packaging, and marketing of five products that represent the six businesses of our value proposition:

Our companies operating these six businesses are focused on maximizing value generation for all our stakeholders, always respecting our principles and values stipulated in the COVEC.

Service Culture

Our priority is to provide the best service experience, creating value to customers and consumers over time. To this end, we implemented e-commerce and trade marketing. By 2020, we will increase the total percentage of online orders from 69% to 76.5%.

Our service culture is characterized by surprising and supporting our customers’ needs based on four standards:

  • Fulfillment: associates do what is necessary to deliver what has been offered, complying with protocols and times.
  • Attention: We identify all the aspects that need to be improved in each encounter with our clients.

Business model innovation

Progreso consistently invested in initiatives that drive new products and processes through the Research and Development Center (CID).

In 2020, the CID’s CETEC laboratory increased services provided to our customers and initiated the Cementos Progreso Interplant Laboratory, including Panama, by 4.8%.

They are currently working on new sustainable concretes. The research is aimed at optimizing concrete elements to achieve greater structural capacity, with less material use when building homes and buildings.

We encourage social housing Project development to improve the lives of thousands of Guatemalans. Our goal is to help low-income families to have access to a high-quality home of their own.
