This is how Progreso brands embrace the pride of being Chapín!

200 years ago, in a heroic endeavor led by distinguished and dedicated citizens, Guatemala began its journey toward freedom and sovereignty. With great pride, Progreso's leading brands aim to inspire everyone to embrace the pride of being Guatemalan, positively impacting through their campaign in honor of the bicentennial.

In 2021, Progreso paid tribute to all Guatemalans with commemorative designs showcased on Mixto Listo trucks and Horcalsa lime bags. This initiative serves as a small homage to Guatemala and its 200 years of independence.

The bicentennial of independence is not just any date—it is a tribute to the love of freedom and the dreams of a nation working tirelessly to build the country we all aspire to live in.

Mixto Listo drew inspiration from national symbols and other elements that every Guatemalan identifies with and takes pride in. The truck designs featured motifs such as kites, chinchines, leather balls, and “stress balls.” Every time a truck hits the road, it carries the pride of being and belonging to Guatemala. At the campaign launch event, Juan Gabriel Arcia, brand manager, stated, “More than just concrete, at Mixto Listo, we carry Guatemala within.”

Horcalsa also contributed with a special design on its bags that highlights the love for Guatemala and the pride of 200 years of national independence.

Guatemala, let us proudly celebrate our bicentennial!

To commemorate Guatemala’s Bicentennial, Progreso developed a series of commemorative bags that celebrate and honor the pride of being Guatemalan. The designs connect various visual elements unique to Guatemalan traditions, celebrating the cultural diversity of our country.
